Today's Society

So, I was on Mysapce today (Total geek, I know) and there was an add on my home page that said:

DO YOU THINK TYRA BANKS IS FAT
CHECK YES OR NO AND WIN A PS3!!

I looked at the picture of her, in a bathing suit, probably wishing that she actually had some time to her self. Today's society is utterly and completely rediculous. Of course, we all knew this. It was one thing to target your normal Joes, but it's another to target the models; the ones that strive to be SKINNY, the ones that tend to have the serious eating disorders. Tyra Banks IS A SIZE EIGHT. Our society, in the places that will reach the most people, is little by little ruining everyone's self-esteem, promoting unhealthy eating habbits, and ultimately an unhealthy lifestyle (In more ways than one, mind you). I think it's time for a change.

Most people, however, don't know how to make this change. It's nearly impossible to be happy with yourself nowdays, we lack confidence. We don't know what to do to make a change, because our creativity, intelligence, and esteem is being wiped out. Soon we will become a civilization of droid-like humans, following what's in and out based on what the television tells us. We'll ultimately be brainwashed, unable to stand up for what's right and wrong, unable to put up a fight for what we believe in! A little extreme? Our society is already disgustingly passive. We see that there are so many wrongs in the world; People dying in Darfur, an needless war in Iraq, restricting rights of people in love, and encouraging people to be unhealthy! And what are people doing about it? Sitting back on their couches and watching Fox News while eating dilevered pizza because they were too lazy to go get it themselves. Yes, this is the modern day America.

I love America. I love what it stands for. I love being free and having a worthwhile education, but frankly, this isn't the America that our forefathers intended to create. They weren't hoping for a pot of lazy slobs focused more on what's on Fox at 7:00 and how they look than the Children dying of AIDS all over the world. They weren't expecting us to take the freedoms they worked so hard to give us for granted! And yet look at us, violating all of the things our ancestors stood for.

400,000 brutally murdered, millions displaced. We need to help Darfur NOW. Is this what our world was meant to be like? Killing for the sake of killing? Who's really at fault here? Of course at first you would go to the Government of Sudan, for the physical damage, but shouldn't we also blame ourselves? For leting it happen? For not doing anything to stop it? Shouldn't we, as human beings, be concerned about those from our own spieces? Shouldn't we try to stop it? What is today's society teaching us, when they're more focused on advertising that Tyra has gained a couple of pounds then the millions dying around the world? We act like evil Gods, destroying for the sake of destroying and only looking out for those that have something in return. We're not Gods. What we are is hardly human.

I challenge you, to make one change to how you live your life in the AMERICAN WAY. Buy free-range dairy products! Buy clothes from companies that don't force children to work in sweatshops (Walmart does, by the way)! Form a peaceful protest about the local business being torn down! You have a voice, and you have rights. Are we actually going to let society stifle us THIS easy? We are the Youth, we are the future. We can make a difference.

It's...wrong?

I found this list on a bi-sexual girl's profile on this site called Iconator. I LOVED it. I hope you do too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reasons to ban Gay Marriage

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

Unanswered Questons

For This Journal Entry, I am going to take time to answer a few of life's unanswered questions as best as I can. Well, Let's start things off!

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

Glue is a polymer. In it's room-temperatured bottled state it is a easily flowing liquid. If, however, you expose this polymer to air, the glue starts to oxidize and harden, producing a stickier substance. Since Glue in the bottle hasn't been exposed to much air, it doesn't stick to the bottle liktit sticks to a piece of paper.

Why are both of Spongebob's parents round like sea sponges while he is square like a kitchen sponge?

Spongbob is a CARTOON(car-toooooon). The cartoon universe and the universe that you and I know, are two very different, unique universes. In the cartoon universe it is actually MORE probable that Spongebob is square while his parents are round, and that Mr. Krabs has a whale for a daughter.

Why does it say "shake well" on ketchup bottles, but not ketchup packets?

The way ketcup bottles are designed (to sit upright) it allows the ketchup to spererate. You see, ketchup is a collid - solid in liquid, which, over time, can seperate into it's parts - tomato paste and an oil. Ketchup packets, however, are designed for only small portions of ketchup with little air, which prevents them from seperating.

We talk and you don't ask me how I'm doing ever
Time used to pass where you would think it was awkward when we weren't talking
and now it seems that you prefer it
I know that you lie to me
And I know that you know me better than that
you know that I'm not stupid
You know I can see it
Is it part of your sick trick?
Building up this freaking wall again to seem how many times I can knock the dang thing down?
Gosh, I'm done with this
I don't know what to do
I don't want to seem so attached
But I feel like I should end this now, for my own personal well-being
I can't take you not caring if you talk to me again
I can't take you not caring what I'm feeling
Or if I get hurt
Remember those days when you would call when you were hurting
Or those days when you freaked out when I didn't log on or call that day?
YOu thought I had died, you told me
You used to tell me that a lot
And now it seems like you wouldn't give a care if I fell of the face of the planet
I don't get it
Are you hiding something from me?
It seems like it
And I know you're afraid of things
And I know that you shouldn't be
But I don't think you care
And I was open with you
I was very intimate
You're throwing away our friendship
And you're throwing away my trust in people
I don't think I would care as much if I didn't KNOW you
But I KNOW you
and I know you know what you're doing
YOu know me almost more than anyone else
You know my past, my present, and my future
You Used me
And you know it
That's not right

--------------------------------------
Doesn't make sense? Not supposed to. Rant over (temporarily)
--------------------------------------

Maybe I'm just not blunt enough. I like to play mind games too, I guess.

I just don't find pleasure in being blunt and maybe hurting others. *whimper*
